Ryuu's Dragon. by Epsereth

This is my belated submission for September's DAX. My Chosen was ryuu-artist, and the refs I got were kind of difficult to follow without any pictures to draw from. I never got a response when I asked for better refs, and since I don't know if she's even kicking around the 'net anymore I took a few liberties with what I wound up drawing. I used it for rendering practice, more or less, even though the texture of the fur that I did so beautifully on this didn't show up well on the scan.

Dragonz-Ahoy Reference Profile. by Epsereth

Dragonz_ahoy on LJ bought a paid account for me in exchange for drawing a reference picture for her. She gave me a really vague description, so this is what I did with it. My first picture using colored pencil, even though it's in the same tones I always use.

Slice Gone Eris. by Epsereth

Surprise birthday gift for Dookiedragon, aka Slice. Rather difficult translating her unrealistic and super-stylized art into my own style, but hopefully I did it okay. I gave her aspects of the Greek goddess Eris, who bears the golden Apple of Discord. I was gonna put a wreath of laurels on her head, but she's got some big ol' ears so I just threw it on her tail. XD I am actually pretty proud of this. I like her legs. The only thing I'm not too happy about is the positioning of the left arm, but it's hard to get a reference for a flat chest when the only person around is the big-boobied girl in the mirror.

This was my submission for the August DAX. I didn't have access to a scanner over the summer so the original submission was a terrible, horrible digital photo. I added some shading for depth and made the lines a little darker for this scan. This is one of those weird drawings where I like the individual parts - the head, the wings, the tail - but I don't really like it as a whole. Ah well.

I drew this in return for the several pictures Kirrazz has done for me over the last year. He's a dental student and a person with a love for imagining exploding kittens. Therefore, I can't help but associate his impending dentistry with doom and MAAADNESS. In case you were wondering - that's a dire wolf skull he's got there.

There Are No Flying Hippos by Epsereth

So, I discovered that it is generally not a good idea to post open requests on one's LiveJournal. :3 _fantasmo_ requested a flying hippo, which I normally would never have done were it not high time to give her some "thank you" art for all the art she's gifted me with. I really am no fan of hippos because they are some of the most disgusting animals on the planet. (Did you know that they spin their tails like propellers to fling their own dookie everywhere when they're pissed? UGH.) So anyway, I decided they weren't cool enough to fly. However, I think this turned out to be more ridiculous-looking than if I'd actually drawn one actually flying. X)
